They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This is especially true when trying to teach how to do something. That’s why today we’re turning to YouTube to show you the best how-to beauty videos we could find. Of course we’ll be putting in our own two cents and combined with the videos we hope to teach you a new beauty trick or two.

Smoky Eyes Video

In this video Beau Nelson shows you how easy it really is to create the smoky eye look. Pay careful attention to the types of brushes he uses. Creating a perfectly blended smoky eye is dependant on using high quality makeup brushes—not the foam applicators that come with your eye shadow.

Also, always pair a smoky eye with a nude lip color. Going bold on both the lips and eyes will make you look “over done” so keep the lip color to a nude shade with a gloss applied overtop for shine.

Tip: If the use of grays to create your smoky eye is too extreme for you follow the same tips but use lilac and lavender shades. This is perfect for day wear as it still makes you eyes pop but is more appropriate for office wear.

Create Flawless Skin Video

Creating that flawless face doesn’t happen by accident. In this next video from MakeupGeek.com she shares her tips (and bares her naked face!) all in the name of beauty how-to.

Note how she uses different shades of concealer from Makeup Forever to correct different flaws.

In this video she uses her hands to blend in her foundation. For lighter coverage you can also use a slightly damp makeup sponge to get sheerer coverage.

Contouring Video

The right makeup and techniques can create cheekbones and slim noses. In this last video MakeupGeek is at it again and shows you which products and colors to use to magically make your cheekbones and nose look slim and contoured.

When trying this technique for the first time put only a small amount of powder on the contour brush. It’s better to have to go over the same area two or three times to get it dark enough instead of being too heavy handed and creating a dark smudge across your cheeks.

I hope these videos have taught you some helpful makeup application tips. Try these great looks for your holiday parties and wow them with your flawless face.
